Weeks 1 - 12: Introduction to Gastroenterology

Topics: Overview of the gastrointestinal system, anatomical terminology, body organization, swallowing, digestion, enzymatic digestion.

Weeks 1 - 12: Liver and Gallbladder

Topics: Anatomy and physiology of the liver and gallbladder, bile production and secretion, pancreatic secretions, feces formation, minerals.

Topics: Regulation of GI motility, smooth muscle activity, enteric nervous system, treatment, dietary interventions, case study analysis.
