Semester 1

Weeks 1 - 12: Introduction to Pharmacology

Topics: Overview of pharmacology, drug nomenclature, drug development process, metabolism, therapeutic index, parasympathetic nervous system drugs.

Weeks 1 - 12: Cardiovascular Pharmacology

Topics: Drugs affecting the heart and blood vessels, anticonvulsants, pain pathways, immunosuppressants.

Weeks 1 - 12: Antibiotics and Antimicrobial Agents

Topics: Classification of antibiotics, mechanisms of action, resistance, hormone therapies, drugs, adverse drug reactions.
