Medical Science Institute (MSI) Fee Payment Policy – STEM Canada

Tuition and Fee Overview: The Medical Science Institute's fee structure is established and reviewed annually by our Board of Advisors. Tuition covers admission and grants access to all course content, including resources, academic workbooks, and software, unless stated otherwise. This policy ensures clarity in the fee obligations and entitlements for students.

  • Application Fee: A one-time, non-refundable application fee of $59 is required for all prospective students applying to MSI.

  •  Membership Fees:
    1. Member Students (BEST VALUE):  An annual membership fee of $99 is mandatory, alongside a monthly fee of $159 (further discounted with semester payments), which provides unlimited access to all MSI courses during the membership period.

** By unlimited access, membership students may enroll in any number of courses for the one low fee.

To ensure timely access to course materials and a smooth start to each term, all tuition fees must be paid and posted to the student's account by the established due date for each term.

Tuition fees are due approximately 7 business days before the start of each academic term. Students are responsible for ensuring that payments are received and processed on time.

    • Winter Term (January 13–19, 2025): Payment Due Date – January 3, 2025.
      * Late applications will be accepted through to January 31, 2025 and are subject to a $25.00 late fee.

    • Spring Term (April 7–13, 2025): Payment Due Date – March 27, 2025.

      * Late applications will be accepted through to April 25, 2025 and are subject to a $25.00 late fee.

    • Fall Term (September 22, 2025): Payment Due Date – September 11, 2025.

      * Late applications will be accepted through to October 10, 2025 and are subject to a $25.00 late fee.

To ensure timely payment posting, students should consider the following processing times for payment methods:

  • PayPal and Credit Card Payments: 3–5 business days for verification.
  • Interac e-Transfer and PaySend (for international transactions): 3–5 business days for verification.

Please allow enough time for your payment to be processed, ensuring it reaches the Institute on or before the due date.

A late fee of $25 will apply if payment is received after the specified due date. It is important to note that failure to make a timely payment may result in a delay in course access, and the late fee will be charged to your student account.

We encourage all students to plan ahead and submit payments early to avoid any late fees and ensure uninterrupted access to course materials. If you have any questions regarding your payment or need assistance, please contact the administrative office promptly.

Payment Default Policy – Medical Science Institute (MSI) at STEM Canada

At STEM Canada’s Medical Science Institute (MSI), we strive to maintain a smooth and transparent payment process for all students. However, it is crucial that students adhere to the payment deadlines as set forth in the Payment Due Date Policy. Failure to comply with these deadlines will result in the following actions:

If a student fails to make payment by the due date, they will be considered in payment default and will not be in good financial standing. This may lead to the following consequences:

  • Late Fees: A late fee will be applied to all outstanding accounts for payments received after the due date.
  • Denial of Academic Information: Students will not be able to request or receive course certificates, transcripts or other academic records until all outstanding fees are settled.
  • Financial Academic Hold: A financial hold will be placed on the student’s record, preventing future registrations, course access, and the release of academic achievements.
  • Program Access Denied: All Current course enrollments or program access will be refused until payment is made in full with no exceptions.
  • Debt Collection: Should the outstanding balance remain unpaid, the debt may be forwarded to a collection agency for recovery.

The registrar will notify students about any outstanding fees and will apply the appropriate late fees to all accounts that remain unpaid after the due date. If the account continues to remain unsettled the involuntary withdrawal process will be enforced.

Involuntary Withdrawal Process.

Forfeiture of Membership and Withdrawal from the Program.
If the student is in payment default for a period of THREE (3) business days, the following will occur automatically:

  • Loss of Membership Status: The student’s membership status will be forfeited, and their member student access will be revoked.
  • Automatic Withdrawal: The student will be withdrawn from the program, and access to courses or related services will be terminated.
Returned Payment Charges
Please note that any transaction that is charged back by the payer or their financial institution will incur a $50.00 NSF (Non-Sufficient Funds) – Returned Payment Charge.

STEM Canada encourages all students to ensure timely payment to avoid disruptions in their learning experience. If you experience any issues or need assistance with your payments, please contact the administrative office as soon as possible to prevent further action.
