I’m Shanal De Silva, a Life Sciences student at Queen’s University pursuing an Honours Bachelor of Science and a Certificate in Law. I’ve always been passionate about the intersection of healthcare, education, and leadership. I’ve had the chance to gain hands-on experience as a Pharmacy Assistant and currently serve as Co-President of the Queen’s Asian Pre-Law Association, where I help lead strategic initiatives and community outreach. I’m also involved in health advocacy through my role at Project Smile Kingston.

Joining STEM Canada as the Volunteer Director of the Medical Science Institute is an exciting opportunity for me to share my love for science and mentorship. I’m especially looking forward to helping young students explore their interest in medical science and building engaging, inclusive programs that inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.
